Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2, 2026

Welcome to The Poster Monkey. We sell – maybe – a couple of old film posters a quarter. It’s a very laid-back operation. However, because we use a website to take orders, the law says we need a privacy policy. This is our box-ticking exercise, written in plain English.

The short version: We only collect the data we absolutely need to get your poster from our hands to your wall. We don’t sell your data, we don’t track you across the web, and we really don’t care about profiling you. We just like posters, music, films, beer, and crisps.

Here is the official stuff.

1. What Data We Collect (And Why)

When you buy a poster from us, WordPress and WooCommerce collect a few things to make the transaction work:

  • Your Name and Delivery Address: So we can write it on the tube and post it to you.
  • Your Email Address: So we can send you an order confirmation, a tracking number, and let you know if there’s a delay.
  • Your IP Address: Collected automatically by the website software for basic security and fraud prevention.

2. Payments

We don’t see or store your credit card details. All payments are processed securely by our third-party payment gateways (like Stripe or PayPal). They handle the money stuff securely; we just get a notification saying you paid.

3. Cookies

Like almost every WordPress site on the planet, this site uses cookies. These are tiny files stored on your device. We use them for basic functions, like remembering what you put in your shopping cart so it doesn’t vanish while you’re browsing.

4. Who We Share Your Data With

We only share your information with the services required to physically fulfill your order. That means:

  • The Postal Service / Courier: They need your name and address to drop off the poster.
  • Our Website Host: Because the website has to live on a server somewhere.

We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to marketing companies. We have absolutely no interest in doing that.

5. Data Retention

We keep your order information in our WordPress database for a reasonable period to handle any customer service issues, returns, or tax accounting. If you want us to delete your order history from our system after you’ve received your poster, just ask.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live (like the UK or EU), you have legal rights regarding your data. You can ask us what data we have on you, or ask us to delete it. If you want to do that, send us an email and we’ll sort it out.

7. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to change this policy if the law changes or if we change how the site works. We also reserve the right to like other things in our own time and at our own discretion, but that shouldn’t affect your data.

How to contact us:

If you have any questions about this policy or want your data removed, just get in touch via our website contact page. We’re human and trying our best, so bear with us and we’ll figure it out.
