A striking example of the celebrated Polish School of Poster Design, this original poster was produced for the Polish release of the French comedy film ‘Jestem Niewiernym Mężem’ (I Am an Unfaithful Husband), directed by Jean Aurel. The film starred Jean Yanne, Françoise Fabian, Francis Blanche, and Nicole Calfan, and was a co-production between Pléiade Capitole (Paris) and Copro Film (Rome).
The illustration is executed in a bold, psychedelic style typical of late 1960s/early 1970s Polish cinema posters. The central image depicts a nude female figure framed within a large decorative tie, set against a radiating sunburst of yellow and orange. The figure is flanked by the lapels of a blue herringbone-patterned suit jacket, with a detailed white dress shirt and buttons visible. A richly textured red-purple rose occupies the lower right. The composition is vibrant, using flat colour separations printed via offset lithography, with visible hand-drawn linework throughout. The print code ‘WDA 2 W-WA, ZAM 454-U-70’ and a print run of 1000 copies (NAKŁAD 1000) are visible, placing production firmly in 1970. Published under the CWF (Centrala Wynajmu Filmów) distribution mark. A highly collectible piece of Polish graphic design history.
Minor wear visible to bottom-left corner edge. Some light surface aging consistent with a 50+ year old poster. No visible tears, pinholes, or tape residue apparent from the photos. Overall presents well.
